This winter was a busy one.
We closed to guests to renovate our final apartment (Casita El Torcal) and to upgrade the outdoor kitchen & bar.
It’s been another labour of love – there was a time when we said we never wanted to see another pot of grey paint. But enough time had passed since renovating the rest of the accommodation last year, that we’d forgotten!
Although each of our three guest apartments has its own private kitchen, an outdoor kitchen is something that’s typically Andalusian. So we thought, why not?!
It’s somewhere to gather with friends and family, or simply to enjoy some shade and a glass of something cool, watching the the falcons soar above the valley
The outdoor kitchen has a wood fired pizza oven, large gas BBQ, our honesty bar, book and games lending library and a little guest shop of our homemade produce, scented candles, room fragrances and olive oil.
We hope you like it!
For the very eagle-eyed, if you saw Finca Gran Cerros on Channel 4’s ‘A New Life in the Sun‘, you may have spotted that this space was where we painted all the wooden windows. Before we broke out the sledgehammer, that is!
Here are a few pics of the work in progress – with thanks to David and Ollie for wielding a sledgehammer so well, and to Darren and Tom for all their help and hard work in putting it all back together again..!
